Alaska pollock government joins sustainable seafood certification board



Craig Morris, CEO of the Affiliation of Real Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP), is taking up a brand new function with seafood certification group World Seafood Alliance (GSA).

Morris will now serve on the GSA’s board of administrators, and also will proceed his function with GAPP, he informed IntraFish.

The GSA is a global, nonprofit commerce affiliation headquartered in the USA that developed the Finest Aquaculture Practices (BAP) third-party sustainable seafood certification program.

In 2018, the group expanded its scope past aquaculture to incorporate wild-capture fisheries. Final 12 months the GSA and Alaska’s Accountable Fisheries Administration (RFM) seafood certification program joined forces to broaden their attain inside wild fisheries and new markets.
