Rachel additionally serves because the Secretary for  the Redwood Empire Chapter of the California Uncommon Fruit Growers, is adjunct college at Santa Rosa Junior Faculty within the Agriculture and Pure Assets Division, and is at the moment engaged on a PhD in Historic Plant Breeding and Genetics from UC Davis.  In her spare time, she enjoys multi-grafting fruit bushes and figuring out insect specimens.
